Women's Soccer Preview

While there will be some new faces on the sidelines leading the women's soccer team this season the high expectations have not changed after a 2024 season that saw the Mustangs make the Big 8 Championship game and pick up a win in the 3C2A state playoffs during a 13-win season.
"Our expectation this season is simple: compete with grit, grow every day, and work relentlessly to reach our full potential - as students, athletes, teammates, and individuals," said interim head coach Carmen Padilla as the Mustangs get ready to open the season on August 29th with a road game against Butte College.
"We're proud to have an accomplished group of returning sophomores leading a talented class of freshmen, all eager to work together and represent Delta with pride," said Padilla.
Among those returning including Madeleine Iniguez and Alyssa Wilright who were recently named as two of the team's captains for this season.
Another of those returners is goalkeeper Hannah Fink who is one of their two options in goal this season along with newcomer Elaynna Flores.
With eight of their first nine games this season on the road they will play their first three games away from home before their home opener on September 9th against Clovis at 5pm.
