Delta College had hosts the Northern Califorinia Wrestling Regional Championships

Delta College had the honor of hosting the Northern Califorinia Wrestling Regional Championships.  The best wrestlers and teams in the North descended on Blanchard Gym including Fresno City the number 1 ranked team in California.  The top six in each weight class qualifies for the State Championships which will be held in Fresno on December 12th and 13th.  Punching their ticket for next week for Delta were Trenton Edalgo(141), Darin Chick(165), and Jamal Starks(174).  Also having good performances for Delta and placing in the top eight for Delta were Nick Marescada(141), Brock Pombo-McCarty(197), and Ron Mendoza(285).  As a team the Mustangs finish 8th overall with Fresno taking the championship.  There were some very exciting matches and excellent wrestling Saturday.  We are excited to compete next week come out to support your Delta Mustang!
