Delta (16-4, 7-1) upsets No. 2 Folsom Lake(18-2, 7-1)
The No. 7 state-ranked Delta Mustangs delivered a statement win, defeating No. 2 Folsom Lake College in conference play and handing the Falcons their first conference loss of the season.
Sophomore Aaliyah Young led the way with a career-high 33 points, powering the Mustangs in a high-energy performance. Delta's balanced attack was on full display, with three additional players scoring in double figures:
- Jakayla Gilmer finished with 11 points
- Fajr Cuthbertson added 11
- Isabella Azzolino chipped in 10
Defensively, the Mustangs were relentless, forcing 23 turnovers and setting the tone on both ends of the floor. With the win, the conference standings tighten as Delta College, Folsom Lake and Santa Rosa JC are now tied for 1st place. The Mustangs return to action Friday, January 23 at 7:30pm, hosting anta Rosa Junior College at home in a highly anticipated rematch.
