Mustangs Walk Off Sierra in Dramatic Home Victory, Improve to 24-9
The Delta College Mustangs secured a dramatic 7-6 victory over Sierra at home. The Mustangs trailed late in the game but mounted a crucial three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the win.
Elisa Galli pitched a complete game for Delta, throwing 7.0 innings. She recorded 7 strikeouts but allowed 6 earned runs on 11 hits and 3 walks. Offensively, Ava Pannell had a hot day at the plate, going 3-3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Elizabeth Avila also contributed significantly with a 2-4 performance and 1 RBI. Brooklynn Galloway was a key offensive contributor, driving in 2 runs.
The Mustangs initially took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Sierra answered with two runs in the fifth to tie the game, followed by Delta taking a 3-2 lead later that inning. The sixth inning saw Sierra score four runs, placing the Mustangs in a 6-3 deficit before Delta responded with one run to make it 6-4. However, the Mustangs' persistence paid off in the final inning, as they scored three runs in the seventh for the walk-off win, tallying 10 hits in total.

Mustangs and Sierra Battle the elements, Delta wins 5-3 in Big 8 Battle
Delta College completes the sweep of Sierra 5-3 in game 2 of the double header, moving their season record to 25-9. The Mustangs generated nine hits in the contest, overcoming an early deficit to hold a lead going into the final inning of play.
Natalie Trujillo pitched a complete game for the Mustangs, allowing two earned runs on eight hits across 7.0 innings while striking out one and walking one. Offensively, the Mustangs were led by Ava Pannell, who went 2-3 with 1 RBI, and Daniella Hunter, who had a 2-4 performance with 1 RBI. Kiana (KiKi) Mazza also contributed with a 1-2 effort, including 1 RBI.
Delta College scored the game's first run in the third inning after the two-hour weather delay before Sierra answered with two in the fourth to take the lead. The Mustangs immediately responded with two of their own in the bottom of the fourth and added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, taking a 5-3 lead after six frames. Trujillo's dominate performance from the circle closed out the Wolverines and firmly moved the Mustangs into first place in the Big 8.
