Bio

A decorated veteran and championship-caliber coach, Nate Gregory joins the Delta College Mustangs as pitching coach for the 2025 season, bringing a unique blend of military discipline and baseball expertise to the program. A former 101st Airborne Air Assault School Road March Champion during his service with C 2/320 FA (1992-1995), Gregory's leadership journey began in the U.S. Army before transitioning to baseball, where he would later help shape some of California's most dominant pitching programs.

Gregory's baseball journey took him from Modesto High School to San Joaquin Delta College, culminating in a highlight achievement with the College of Idaho's 1998 NAIA National Championship team. His passion for athletic performance led him to earn a Master of Science in Sports Science, specializing in Sports Psychology from the United States Sports Academy in 2013. 

During his tenure at Oakdale High School (2004-2017), first as pitching coach and later as he coach, Gregory established himself as one of the region's premier pitching developers. Under his guidance, the Mustangs captured six CIF Section Titles while developing an impressive pipeline of collegiate talent. His pitching program produced 12 Division I pitchers – including three who reached the NCAA World Series and one national champion – along with three NAIA pitchers who made World Series appearances and three Division II competitors.

Gregory's impact continued at Modesto Junior College, where his 2018 Pirates pitching staff ranked 11th statewide in strikeouts with 338. After navigating the challenges of the COVID-affected 2020 and 2021 seasons, he led the Pirates as Interim Head Coach in 2023 to a historic achievement – their first playoff series victory in two decades, finishing with a strong 23-18 record.

A family man at heart, Gregory shares his life with his wife Lisa and their three children: Josh, Macie, and Halie. His combination of military leadership, championship experience, and proven ability to develop elite pitching talent makes him an invaluable addition to the Delta College coaching staff.
