Bio
Bay Area native and former NCAA Division II Player of the Year Harmen Sidhu was named the Head Baseball Coach at San Joaquin Delta College College in June 2025.
Sidhu most recently served as Head Baseball Coach at Los Medanos College. In just two seasons at the helm (2023–2025), Sidhu transformed the program into one of the top-performing teams in the state. In his first year, he led the Mustangs to a school-record number of conference wins, tied the school’s overall win record, and was named Bay Valley Conference Coach of the Year. The team won the Bay Valley Conference in year one and were co-champions in year two.
Over his two-year tenure, Los Medanos consistently ranked in the top 10 in the state in both offense and pitching. His teams also broke the school record for stolen bases and led the entire state in that category.
Prior to LMC, Sidhu spent two seasons as the associate head coach and pitching coach at Diablo Valley College. He guided the pitching staff to a top-5 finish in California in both strikeouts and ERA. Under his leadership, Vikings pitchers shattered a 23-year-old school record with 391 strikeouts in a single season and reached the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade.
Before DVC, Sidhu spent two seasons at the University of California, Berkeley, where he mentored 10 MLB draft picks—including Dylan Beavers (Round 1), Sean Sullivan, Ian Villers, Grant Holman, Josh White, and Joseph King. In total, five of his pitchers were selected within the top 10 rounds of the MLB Draft.
Prior to his time at Cal, Sidhu served as an assistant coach at Holy Names University in 2019. There, he guided the Hawks' pitching staff to major improvements, reducing the team ERA from 7.45 to 5.59 and walks issued during conference play from 258 to 137. He also coached two All-Region and All-Conference selections, including Garrett O'Callaghan—the program’s first All-PacWest First Team and All-West Region Second Team honoree.
Sidhu began his collegiate playing career at Diablo Valley College, where he earned All-BIG 8 First Team honors and helped lead the team to a third-place finish in the state. He later transferred to Oregon State and then Sonoma State, where he emerged as one of NCAA Division II’s premier players.
As a senior at Sonoma State, Sidhu earned the prestigious 2013 Tino Martinez Award as the most outstanding player in NCAA Division II baseball. He finished the season with a 10-1 record, 93 strikeouts, and a nation-leading 0.98 ERA over 82.2 innings. He also broke CCAA records for both single-season (0.98) and career ERA (1.56), and was named the 2012-13 CCAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Following his standout senior season, Sidhu was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 20th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
A native of Martinez, Sidhu attended College Park High School, where he led the Falcons to their first North Coast Section Championship and earned All-Diablo Foothill Athletic League and All-Bay Area First Team honors. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sonoma State in 2013 and earned his master’s degree in Exercise Science & Biomechanics from the University of the Southwest (NM) in 2019, also graduating Magna Cum Laude.
