Softball
Not only has the postseason gotten underway for them but they had little trouble in advancing to the Super Regionals which starts at home this Friday when they take on College of Sequoias at 2:00pm. After winning the Big 8 Conference championship the Mustangs were the No. 3 seed in the 3C2A Northern Regional playoffs and advanced to the second round as they defeated Taft 10-2 and 10-0 in the opening round. With a record of 30-10 they have been led in the circle by pitcher Elisa Galli who has gone 24-4 with a 1.69 ERA and has struck out 190 batters. Sophomore Daniella Hunter has been the big bat for the Mustangs this season as she leads the team with nine home runs and 38 runs batted in.
Baseball
A season that doesn't end winning a state championship is always tough, but it was an outstanding season for them as they not only made the 3C2A state playoffs but hosted the regional this past weekend after winning the Big 8 Conference championship during the regular season. Vance Haskins led the pitching staff with seven wins and 73 strikeouts while Nathan Luehs and Justin Jones each had five wins this season. Four players drove in at least 25 runs for their offensive attack with sophomore Tyson Reis hitting a team-best eight home runs while driving in 37 runs.
Beach Volleyball
It was a season filled with Big 8 Conference championships and that includes the beach volleyball team as they did so for their first time in program history as they went 19-4 overall and 15-1 in conference play. As a team their season came to an end in the regional playoffs but there is still some hope of a state title to add to their history making season in the sand. While all five pairs advanced to the Big 8 Championships it is now down to just Hadlee Gray and Trinity Beers still competing as they will be battling for a 3C2A state championship later this week as they qualified for the pairs championship on Friday in Southern California.
Men's Golf
With sights on qualifying for next week's 3C2A state championships the Mustangs are currently competing at the Nor Cal Regional championships. In their final Big 8 Conference matchup of the regular season, they finished led by Luke Hyland shooting two under par. Not only did Hyland lead the way but he earned all-conference honors this season as did Keanu Phillips.
Women's Wrestling
Wrestling into the month of May the team returned from 3C2A state championships with an eighth-place finish as a team highlighted by a state championship by Kayleen Tuavao in the 160-pound weight class. Alejandro Ochoa also earned her way onto the podium this past weekend with a third-place finish in her weight class. In just their third year as a program it is the second season in a row, they have had a state champion as Samira Mason won the 110-pound weight class in 2025.
Track and Field
It was their men's team with the better finish at the NorCal meet as they finished in second while the women's team finished in fourth place this past weekend in Santa Rosa as they set their sights on the state championships later this month. Some of the top performances included Adonis Siga winning the 110m and 400m hurdles, Michael Pelaez finishing second in the 5000m, and a first-place finish by the men's 4x400m relay team. On the women's side some of the top performances included Ashonti Brown winning the 100m and 400m hurdles, Taviana Hughes finishing third in the 400m, and multiple second place finishes in relay events.
Swimming
With their season coming to an end this first weekend of May the women's team finished in 12th place at the 3C2A state championships. Crystallyn Tran had the top individual performance for the Mustangs as she set a new school record while finishing in fourth place in the 200 Fly to go with a sixth-place finish in the 100 Fly. Kylie Richardson also set a school record in the 200 Breast while finishing in sixth place. A big congratulations as well to the women's swim and dive coaching staff led by Nathan Varosh which was honored as the Big 8 Conference Coaches of the Year.
